Why Are Vaccinations Needed?

Vaccines offered during visits to your Hobart, IN, pediatrician, Dr. Marc Connery of BYP Kids, help your children stay healthy. Vaccinations prevent many diseases that can cause chronic or lifelong health complications, like polio, measles and meningitis.

Why are vaccinations needed?

Vaccinations prevent your child from developing diseases or make the illness less severe. Immunizations also help protect babies who aren't old enough to receive vaccines yet and people who can't be vaccinated for health reasons. When the majority of people are immunized, diseases can't spread.

How is the vaccine schedule determined?

Timing is everything when it comes to vaccines. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends immunizations at crucial times in the development of your child's immune system. Providing the vaccines at these specific times offers the most benefit for your child.
